REGISTRATION PACKET FOR 2017 SUMMER FUN

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in attending our Summer Fun program here at LMPC Day School. I’m sure you and your child will be excited about all the activities that we have planned for your children. We know your children will certainly keep busy and have a lot of fun.  The following packet contains information regarding our summer here at LMPC Day School.

Both part-time and full-time spaces will be offered in most age groups including school age children up to rising 4th grade. Full-time children who were signed up in August for 12 months have already been registered. Children who registered for a part-time must register for a summer space (if its available).

For currently enrolled children who wish to register for the summer program, you will need to complete & return a summer registration packet before March 17th.  Please note that registering in the summer program does not mean that your child is enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year.

This year, Lake Murray Presbyterian Church (LMPC) will tentatively hold Vacation Bible Study (VBS) during the week of either July 24 or July 31, during the morning hours. Please note that registration for VBS is separate from our summer day school program. We will pass out this information as we get more information.

Registration Procedures

As you arrive at the Day School, all interested persons will sign-in. When we begin each session, names will be called in order that you signed in (first come, first served). During registration, if a space is available and offered to you, payment and registration forms must be submitted at that time in order to hold your child’s space for the summer. We will not be able to hold spaces due to lack of payment or forms. If you do not wish to accept the space offered, you are under no obligation to pay a registration fee. Please note that class assignments will be based on the child’s age on September 1 and that children are not moved up to the next age group until the new school year begins.

In order to have registration run as smooth as possible with few delays, we respectfully request that you please call the Day School office prior to registration concerning program or any other questions.  Please be familiar with the part-time days that are offered for the different age groups, specifically the younger age groups.

Registration will held on Tuesday, March 21st in the Multi-purpose Room in the Francis Burriss Day School & Children’s Ministries Building.

The Summer Registration Schedule will be as follows:

March 1st – March 17th

Children who are currently enrolled in the 2016-17 school year and are not registered for the summer program

March 21st

9:30 a.m.  Siblings of Church Member children currently enrolled AND
                   Siblings of Non-Church Member children currently enrolled

10:00 a.m. Children who are not enrolled in the current school year, but are enrolled for the upcoming (2017-18) school year

10:45 a.m.  Church Members with children not enrolled

11:15 a.m.  Registration opens to the community

Program Description

Full-time Program

The full-time program covers the hours of 6:45am – 6:00pm, with structured activities beginning at 9:00am.

A child must have been present during the morning session (arriving before 11:45am) in order to participate in Extended Care.  During Extended Care (after 12:00pm), there will be assigned classrooms that children will use. This may be different from your child’s morning classroom.

Each child staying for lunch should bring a lunch, including a drink. Please make sure that all bags are labeled. We will provide the morning and afternoon snack.

If your child is sensitive to the sun, please apply sun block before coming to school.

Extra-curricular activities will be offered in the afternoons (i.e., soccer, dance, afternoon camps, etc.) for enrolled children. Please note that activities that are offered are based on interest, and specific age requirements may apply.

Part-time Program

The part-time program covers the hours from 8:45am – 12:00pm, with structured activities beginning at 9:00am.

Part-time spaces for infant, toddler and two-year-old children are: a two-day space (T/Th); a three-day space (M/W/F); or a five-day space (M-F, based on availability).  The part-time program in the three and four-year-old classrooms are five day spaces (M-F).

Extended Care is available for both mornings and afternoons for an additional charge.  Morning Extended Care is from 6:45am – 8:45am. Afternoon Extended Care is from 12:00pm – 6:00pm.  All children arriving before or staying after these times even with a parent present will be signed in and charged accordingly.

A child must have been present during the morning session (arriving before 11:45am) in order to participate in the afternoon.  Please note that part-time children may not leave and return to school the same day.  In order use extended care, you must inform the office at least a day before the request is needed to insure proper supervision.

During Afternoon Extended Care, there will be designated classrooms that children will use which may be different from your child’s morning classroom. Children who are not picked up by 12:05pm will be placed in extended care and charged accordingly.

Extended Care

Extended care, which is an extension of time outside the designated part-time hours, is offered for all age groups. Please note that a child must have attended the morning session (signed in by 11:45 a.m.) to use the afternoon extended care program and that part-time children may not leave and return in the same day for any reason, including extended care activities that are offered in the afternoons. Please refer to Part-time Program or for specific details.).

Extended Care is considered any time before 8:45am or after 12:00pm for part-time children. Children who are staying for lunch/rest/nap may be in a different room from their assigned morning class depending on the number of children staying.

After 1:00pm, children who are present will go to an assigned extended care room.

As a service for our families, we will offer EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES during Afternoon Extended Care that are available through individual instructors/contractor (i.e., soccer, dance).  The cost for each activity is set by the instructors and are paid separately from tuition.  Many of the activities have an age requirement, so please check with the instructor before beginning.  We ask that at least a 24 hour notice is given to the office BEFORE a child can begin an Extended Care Activity to ensure the proper paperwork with required signatures are completed.

Part-time children staying for an afternoon Extended Care Activity will be charged from 12:00pm until the extra-curricular activity begins.  If you pick up your child directly from the activity, you will not be charged any additional fees.  If the child is returned and signed back into our care (even for a minute), you will be charged the extended care rate for the additional time. For more information regarding Extended Care Activities, please stop by the Day School office.

Please note that there is a minimum charge of an hour for extended care each morning and each afternoon. After the first hour, you will be charged in ½ hour increments.

Tuition, Fees and Payment Policy

A registration fee is required for all children that is due at the time of registration.

Tuition and fees are due by the 10th of each month even if you do not receive a bill.  Each family has a Family Folder located in the reception area and bills will be placed in your folder by the first of each month. Some charges such as early morning care, extended care and special lunch days are collected in arrears. Your bill will reflect the amount of charges. On the 11th, any outstanding balances are past due and a late charge of $20 per child will be applied to all unpaid balances. If the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment is due the business day before the 10th. An additional late charge of $20 will be applied if payment is not received by the 20th of the month.  Non-payment or consistent late payments may result in the cancellation of enrollment.

Remember, no adjustments will be made to tuition due to weather related closings, building related closings or your child’s attendance.

Please DO NOT leave your payment in your family folder or send payments in book bags.

Payments can be made by:

  1. Placing a check in the metal box marked Tuition located in the reception area of the Day School office, or
  2. Paying online by going to the Day School website: www.lmpdayschool.org. Click on the Tuition page and under Tithes and Donation click on Preschool under description. Please note that if paying electronically, please include a $12.25 processing fee.

Returned Checks  

Checks will be deposited only one time. If a check is returned, a charge of $20.00 will be applied to your account. If two checks are returned for non-sufficient funds during the school year, all future payments must be made by cashier’s check or money order. If a personal check is submitted for payment during this time, it will be returned to you and may result in an additional late charge to your account. 

Withdrawal

Tuition and/or Registration fees are non-refundable. A child is considered enrolled when registration fees are paid and required papers are completed and turned in at the Day School office. If it becomes necessary for parents to withdraw their child, it is expected that the parents will give a 30 day written notice to the Director. If a 30 day notice is not given, the parents are responsible for one month’s tuition and any applicable late fees. Please note that your signature on the Registration Forms mean you are agreeing to all of LMPC Day School’s policy, including the Withdrawal Policy.
